It's a sad story really. Daion made some spectacular guitars during the late 1970s and early 1980s. For some reason they never sold well though, and now they're gone and all but forgotten. :-(

"The 80" is a strummer. A squarish dreadnought shape, a characteristic oval soundhole, brass nut, brass bridge, a lovely dark brown clolour and a distinctively V-shaped neck all makes it into the ultimate country/folk/pop rhythm guitar. Classic design yet with enough unique features to be noticed in a crowd, and a lovely brilliant tone.

Pickup alternatives

One of these days I'm gonna do some really serious pickup testing on this guitar, but that'll have to wait.

Barcus-Berry original

I bought the guitar second-hand back in - 1982 I think it was - and this was what the previous owner had fitted into it. I didn't expect much, and that's exactly what I got. Never planned to play it amplified anyway.
