                    Orpheum OR10 XX Resonator Guitar
                      Dean Chrome S Resonator Guitar
OK, I admit it: I'm not exactly in a rational state of mind as I write this. I got one of these yesterday and is totally in love! It's got that classic design and the classic honky dobro sound. Each note leaps out of the guitar like a bullet and stays in the air forever! On top of that it plays like a dream. This is an instrument I simply can't put it down!

Of course it may not be everybody's cup of tea. Resonator guitars come in lots of different flavours to suit different tastes. For this model Dean has chosen to go for a small full metal (chrome-finished brass) body, a single resonator a bisquit bridge with a wooden rather than bone centerpiece and a slender, rounded 19-fret neck and relatively low action that seem to encourage regular rather than slide playing (although it works well in both roles). This all result in a rather compact sound in the upper range and a slightly softer velvety lower range. Die-hard blues players might want a more open sound than the Dean produces and possibly a higher action to simplify slide playing. But replacing the wooden bridge with a slightly higher bone one only takes seconds to do, costs next to nothing and should produce a far more open tone and better slideability if that's waht you're looking for.

If money is tight and you want a quality metalbodied resonator guitar, this really is the one you're looking for. I had to pay twice the price that Music 123 asks for it at my local music store and I still think I got a real bargain!

                        Regal Black Lightning Resonator Guitar
"The Black Lightning shines in the floodlights, and it has the tone to match its showy looks. It features a mahogany body formed in a 1930s Vintage..."
                          Dean Gold CE Resonator Guitar
"Metals of Honor - Didn't wake up this morning? Try one of these raucous resonators to kick-start your daily blues!"
                            Fender Delta 6 Resonator Guitar
"Metal Resonator Guitar. There seems to be no end to the music that sounds great on a resonator guitar: Delta blues, rock, bluegrass, swampy slide. Whatever styles you play acoustic, the resonator will..."
                              Washburn Resonator Guitar
"Custom built and designed by Eric Sardinas and Washburn, this resonator guitar is second to none with their unique art deco styling and legendary tone."
                                Dean Chrome S Resonator Guitar
"Metals of Honor - Didn't wake up this morning? Try one of these raucous resonators to kick-start your daily blues!"
                                  Flinthill Square Neck Resonator Guitar
Moderately priced resonator guitar with a spruce top. Note that this is a squarenecked guitar, that is it's great as a slide guiatr but perhaps not for standard playing no matter how slim and comfortable the manufacturer claims the neck to be.
